As we reflect back over the years, we find a proud record of achievement and aid to those in need at a time when our town and city were growing at a great rate. We supported our children and our youth. We assisted the elderly and those with special needs. We supported health and medical research activities and programs, disaster relief efforts and so much more.
The Lions motto ''We Serve" is a statement of how Lions see their role in the community and we live by our ˜Ethics". As Lions we are a proud part of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries who help to meet the needs of their local communities as well as helping where needed throughout Australia and around the world.
Over the years, our motto 'We Serve' was tested many times and we have always responded!
Our Annual Bowls Gala is a wonderful event to raise funds for local projects and gets many members ˜on the green" and many a laugh may be heard at the Thursday afternoon raffles at the Valentine Bowling Club. Australia Day ˜Brekkie in the Park" and Cricket Game has become a community activity and has now expanding to include those in ˜aged care". In the early days our ANZAC Day Service attracted a small number and is now attended by hundreds of residents.
Our members are our ˜heart beat" and we the Valentine Lions are woven into the fabric of our community. They come from all walks of life and give what they can to our community. We involve them in as many of our local commitments as possible and mix our service work with our usual fun social activities. We nurture them and provide support and advice where needed.
Valentine Lions are very community minded and very proud of our 40 years of service and we will strive to continue to live up to our motto ˜We Serve" in the years to come.
Many thanks to our generous community who constantly support the fundraising efforts of the Lions Club of Valentine!

Our members have always been well known for their enjoyment of social occasions. Our Annual Bowls Gala to raise funds for local projects gets many members 'on the green' as well. Many a laugh may be heard at the Thursday afternoon raffles at the Valentine Bowling Club.
